JULIA + TRISTAN
Julia and Tristan share a mutual love of the ocean and their dog Cobba. Regular people are happy being around the ocean and occasionally in it, but this couple feels at ease under it. On a normal weekend, they spend their time freediving and spearfishing for any number of tasty morsels. On the 1st August 2020 instead of hitching up the boat and hunting for their favourite fish, they stated their vows and exchanged rings in the presence of their family and friends.
They chose The Billi Resort as their venue. The Billi’s lush gardens and big trees give plenty of shade that soak up the heat and humidity that pleasantly contrasts the local atmosphere making it comfortable and relaxing for any travelling guests. The tents consistently yield subtle lighting options, making it easy for us to create a variety of moods within our image during bridle preparations.
Julia could hardly contain herself. Given the chance, Julia would have jumped into that dress and run down to meet Tristan, but we're glad that she allowed herself to be doted upon by her bridesmaids and family. Her preparations were the most relaxed event that we’ve ever documented.
Bonnie Louise’s talented styling accentuated her natural beauty while setting off her dainty Peggy and Twigg earrings adorning her ears with their simple elegance.
Julia was ahead of schedule. They had enough time to stop along the way for a few quiet words of wisdom from her dad and family blessing before they followed along the lush tropical pathways through the resort on their way again to give her away to her forever-man!
A family friend presided over the ceremony, but it was the heartfelt and scripture readings by family members that evoked an emotive semblance of commitment, compassion, and mutual respect.
The deep red earth of the Kimberley was a must-have inclusion in the backdrop to Julia + Tristan's first story as husband and wife, and Reddell Beach is the perfect little jewel when it comes to dramatic reds. It’s just one of those places in nature that is a gift for anyone who visits. Regardless of the time of day, it is a place that will inspire and ground you but never more so than at sunset. It never fails to light up with coastal Kimberley colours providing the perfect ambiance to welcome in the night and its festivities.
Broome Sunset’s Hire owner - Lauren Gray, is a Wedding Planner that we can’t recommend highly enough. She is perpetually pleasant and wonderfully creative. She easily integrates each couple's vision into her unique tailored designs that genuinely reflect the couples.
As photographers, we are privy to all sorts of behind-the-scenes activities, and as far as food is concerned you want your caterer to put their heart and soul into their food. DMK Kitchen produces delectable 'Asian infusion' cuisine. Their platters empty within minutes of being served, but don't be afraid as they'll keep that goodness flowing for hours on end!
Who doesn’t have a secret desire for eating freshly cooked cinnamon donuts with their significant other, right? In the spirit of mutual acceptance, Julia and Tristan crave them and just had to share their food crush with their guests. Local artisan foodie, The teacher baker creator completed their circle of love, absolutely nailing her tasty dough treats as well as their perfectly petite wedding cake.
