The Sherer Family

The Sherer family love their sport, dancing, and camping. They genuinely love being outdoors and jumped at the opportunity for us to photograph them at Coconut Wells. The beach along this stretch of coast is always stunning but never more so than on a calm dry season afternoon. The drive out to the beach is renowned for sending the little ones to sleep, especially in the late afternoon. The youngest in the crew, George, succumbed to sandman as we drove along the winding sandy track to the beach. He was a little drowsy at first few but quickly bounced into gear tearing the place apart with his siblings.

We worked away to capture them eagerly collecting the spiky tips of the Beach Spinifex affectionately known as β€˜Crackles’ to the kids. Broome kids love to put them into a campfire and hear them crackle away to ash while they toast marshmallows and stay warm in the cool evenings of a dry season school holiday.

After some family photos, we set off hunting for octopuses. Small octopuses are common to find in the rock pools through this area but before we could find any, the sun went down and it was time to head home.
